Kind Campaign and Character Building Day
On Monday, January 9th, the young women of our school will be involved in a Kind Campaign. Female students and staff will view a documentary film called "Finding Kind" that explores female relationships and girl-on-girl "crime." Why are girls so mean to each other? And what can we do about it? The filmmakers go on a cross country tour of America looking to answer these veryquestions. By the end of the film, it really comes down to the idea that we can all choose to Be Kind. The young men of our school will learn more about what it means to be a Man of Character. Noah Couser, a former Lakes student, will be the guest speaker of the day. Through small group discussions, team building activities, and our staff and Noah's example, the young men will learn what it means to have and grow character. We ask our young men to think about what it means to be Character Strong. By the end of the day students will be invited to sign a Kind Pledge or a Character Pledge as a reminder and a promise to come to school each day with character and kindness.
